OREGON BALLOT MEASURESYES on Measure 102Measure 102 will make it easier for local governments to raise money for affordable housing. Addressing the high cost of housing in Oregon will help SEIU members who struggle to keep up.NO on Measure 103Measure 103 would add broad, permanent, and untested tax loopholes for specific corporations into our state’s constitution. They say it’s about keeping groceries free, but the amendment is so poorly written that it defines vape pens and soda as groceries, but not diapers, soap, or medicine — items that SEIU members buy everyday. Once these loopholes are in the constitution, it’s very hard to fix them.NO on Measure 104Measure 104 is another unnecessary constitutional amendment. Oregon already requires a supermajority to raise taxes. What this amendment would really do is lock loopholes and perks for big corporations into the state Constitution and create more gridlock in Salem. These loopholes and perks come out of the funding for services that SEIU members provide and rely on, services such as healthcare and education.NO on Measure 105Measure 105 will lead to Oregonians being profiled or detained because of the color of their skin or because they have an accent. No matter if you are white, black, or brown, we all agree no one should be discriminated against. Voting no will stop profiling and keep local law enforcement resources focused on local issues.NO on Measure 106Measure 106 is dangerous constitutional amendment that cuts access to reproductive healthcare services, including abortion, for low-income women and public employees. It sets a dangerous precedent of letting government pick and choose what types of healthcare SEIU members can receive, interferes with public employee’s bargained benefits, and cuts funding for SEIU member jobs at Planned Parenthood, clinics and hospitals.
