Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital Bargaining Update #02
Your elected bargaining team met with management on April 2 to continue bargaining for a strong contract. Members have been clear that they won’t settle for less than what other Samaritan workers earn and won’t accept being left out and left behind again.
Management had promised to start the day with a “comprehensive” proposal including their offer for wage increases to catch North Lincoln workers up to other Samaritan workers. Instead, they said they needed more time, and finally let your team know at 3pm that they still weren’t ready. While they didn’t have time to make any proposal for wage increases, they did offer several other proposals including:
Reducing the maximum hours of PTO accrual to be less than other SEIU members at Samaritan get and eliminating the provision to give higher PTO accrual to long term employees.
Increasing insurance premiums.
Slowing down the grievance process to allow for issues to be dragged out longer.
The choice is clear: Either SNLH workers stand united and demand not to be left behind or accept a contract that leaves SNLH workers bargaining alone and earning less.
Take action today to stand up for a strong contract:
1) Sign the Petition showing we stand united with our bargaining team and that we deserve better! See a Bargaining Team member for details.
2) Update your contact info so you stay up-to-date on bargaining and can know about future actions.
