Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital Bargaining Update #03

Your elected bargaining team met with management on April 14th to continue bargaining for a strong contract. Members have been clear that they will not settle for less than other Samaritan workers earn and won’t accept being left behind again. The bargaining team delivered the Bargaining Team Support petition. Over 80% of members showed their unity signing.

Management came with a proposal which would create wage parity with PCH effective the first year as promised to catch North Lincoln workers up to other Samaritan workers. While the wage proposal was a positive step, they are still insisting on a contract that would leave Lincoln City bargaining alone and would ensure that wages fall behind again.

Your bargaining team continues to propose a one-year contract to catch us up now and keep us caught up in the future. The team also responded to many of the proposals that management has made.

MANAGEMENT IS CONTINUING TO PROPOSE:

  • A 3-year contract with low raises in the second and third years

  • Reducing maximum PTO accruals below what other SEIU members in Samaritan can accrue

  • Increasing healthcare premiums beyond what other SEIU members pay

The choice is clear: Either SNLH workers stand united and demand not to be left behind or accept a contract that leaves SNLH workers bargaining alone and earning less. Our next bargaining day is set for April 29th. Wear your purple to show your solidarity. When workers at North Lincoln stand united for a strong contract, WE WIN!
