United for an Industry-Leading Contract!

Our SEIU 49 Bargaining Team delivered a clear message to management from all of us: We need an industry-leading contract that centers quality patient care and improves the health of staff, our families, and our pocketbooks. 


At the bargaining table when we met, we proposed fully paid healthcare for individuals and families to put hundreds of dollars back into our pockets each month and provide healthcare benefits for those who could not afford the current monthly premium and co-pays.

We didn’t stop there: We also proposed $5 office visit co-pays and $3 prescription co-pays!

What would this mean for your family? 


Our bargaining team also proposed improvements for differentials:

  • Evening Shift: $3.50/hour

  • Night Shift: $7.00/hour

  • Weekend: $3.00/hour

  • Preceptor/Trainer: $3.00 per hour for an entire shift when assigned

  • Stand-by Pay: $7.00/hour or $10.00/hour on holidays. Paid double time when called to work with a minimum of 3 hours paid, regardless of 3 hours are worked.

  • Lead: Paid at higher wage rate than those they are leading plus a $3.00/hour differential for entire shift when assigned.

  • Bilingual: $3.00/hour for an entire shift when assigned.

  • Longevity:
    5 years-$1.00 per hour
    10 years-$2.00 per hour
    !5 years- $3.00 per hour
    20 years- $4.00 per hour
    25 years- $5.00 per hour

  • Variable Hour Differential: $2.00/hour

  • In-Lieu of Benefits: 15% of hourly wages per hour worked.
