Bargaining Begins at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital!
Your elected bargaining team met for the first time with management on March 20. The team let management know that it is not OK to pay members in Lincoln City less then they pay at other Samaritan hospitals for the same work.
The team proposed a one-year contract that would:
✔ Equalize wages with Newport workers. Currently, Lincoln City workers are significantly behind other Samaritan workers. A few wage examples at Step 1 (the gap grows as you move up the scale):
• Registered Respiratory Therapist: $1.98/hour lower at SNLH
• EVS worker: $2.76/hour lower at SNLH
• Registered SPD worker: $2.06/hour lower at SNLH
✔ Increase differentials in line with what Samaritan pays at other hospitals.
✔ Add an Education Fund benefit that all other SEIU represented Samaritan workers won in their contracts.
✔ Ensure that Lincoln City members don’t get left behind again by aligning our contract so that Newport and Lincoln City workers can bargain at the same time.
Management did not provide a full response. They said they intended to raise wages so North Lincoln workers are not behind other Samaritan workers but management proposed a longer contract which could leave North Lincoln workers behind by excluding North Lincoln when other Samaritan workers bargain in 2026. Management promised to bring a full proposal including wages to the next bargaining session on April 2.

It will take unity and determination to win a strong contract.
